Montgomery County Dog License Sales

It is Ohio law that all dogs must be licensed in the state of Ohio. Dog Licenses must be renewed annually. The county allows veterinarian offices to sell dog licenses only during the “Annual Renewal” period of December 1st to January 31st. Outside of this time period licenses can be purchased at the Montgomery County Auditor’s office, the Animal Resource Center or online.

We have sold dog licenses at Shiloh Animal Hospital for the past ten years but have decided to discontinue this beginning in December of 2025. The ease of buying them online combined with the large amount of staff time it takes to process a dog license by our receptionist has made us decide to no longer participate in the program.

Moving forward you can purchase them online, in person at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center or in person at the Montgomery Country Auditors Office. Additional, on the Montgomery country Auditors office website a list of additional purchase locations can be found.
