Dr. Mazzei

Dr. Shawne Mazzei graduated from the Ohio State University in 1998 with a B.S. in Zoology and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She has a passion for her clients and patients and giving them the best and highest quality care possible. She joined Shiloh Animal Hospital in 2013 and is now the owner. Her inspiration for becoming a veterinarian came from meeting and observing Dr. Kris Hall treat patients 30 years ago. Dr. Mazzei lives with her husband Mark, her 3 children and 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys hiking, reading, and playing with her dogs.

Dr. Lockhart

Dr. Lockhart and Dr. Mazzei were classmates at The Ohio State University, both graduating in 2002 with their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. She has 22 years of experience, mostly recently working at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in the Cincinnati area.

She feels excited to be working in veterinary medicine at a time of such innovation. “In just the past few years, safer and more effective treatments have been developed for allergies, arthritis, and parvovirus.” Her favorite part of medicine is simply making a difference for pets and their families.

Dr. Lockhart has been married since 1997 and has two sons and a granddaughter! Her family also includes three rescue dogs and a cat. She has many hobbies including reading, quilting and embroidery, puzzles, football and travel (Scotland is her favorite place!)

I enjoy client education and helping people understand what their pets are communicating to them. I have two cats, a guinea pig, and a horse. I love the small business aspect and the respect that everyone shows to each other at Shiloh Animal Hospital. I am glad to have such a close-knit group of co-workers, as well as clients. I enjoy riding my horse, gardening, and spending time outside.

Customer Service Representatives

Christa

Lead Customer Service Representative.

Christa has been at Shiloh Animal Hospital since Spring of 2021. Before that she had a brief stint selling shoes across the street, but mostly had spent the last twenty years raising and homeschooling her two daughters. Along the way, She volunteered at Brukner Nature Center and coached local 4H kids in various horse competitions, which led to an interest in finding work where she could help people and animals. Growing up, hers was the house where all the strays were dropped off, she even got a kitten in her trick or treat bag one year!–so, I’ve had pets my whole life, until recently. Christa’s last fur baby passed away early this year, so now she focuses on her two grand-cats and helping area rescues. In my free time she enjoys traveling with her husband, going to concerts, and is working on her first novel. She loves that at Shiloh we are always striving to do and be better. Employees’ ideas are taken seriously and often put to practice and appreciated. In her own words “But more than anything, I really love our clients. From welcoming them in, whether it’s the 1st or 101st time they’ve been there, to hunting down the most affordable options for their pet’s prescription, I enjoy getting to know and helping each one of them.”

Amber

Customer Service Representative

Amber has been with us for 3 years. Before Shiloh she has had many jobs since her husband is military and they move a lot. Just prior, Amber worked at a bank but realized it did not make her happy. Amber has a passion for animals and that passion has brought her to Shiloh. Amber enjoys being able to see new/different animals daily as well as interacting with their owners. In her free time she helps take care of her 94 year old Friend Harold and caring for her 3 children.

Shannon

Customer Service Representative

Shannon has been with us for a year after being in retail for over 15 years. She is extremely happy with the career change. She is the human of a very fluffy orange cat named Scout and has a Grand-puppy Named Lincoln who is a Newfie-Poo. She loves being around all the animals and getting to know the owners. In her spare time she is involved with Community Theatre and tries to spend as much time as she can with her Grand Daughters.

Mary

Customer Service Representative

Mary began working with animals in 1992 as a laborer on an exotic animal ranch in north central Washington state. This involved assisting with births and medication in addition to general care and feeding. After several years I transitioned to veterinary assistant in a mixed animal veterinary hospital, working with large, small and exotic pets, as well as wildlife rehabilitation. Some life changes brought me to Dayton, where I was born and raised, and I’ve been working at Shiloh Animal Hospital for the past 9 years. I love working here, close to home, where I see familiar faces and know that every member of the staff strives to give great care to all our clients and their pets. Hobbies: when not working, i enjoy spending time with my sisters, travel, birdwatching, sewing, and all kinds of fiber crafts. When I was working with llamas I started spinning the fiber I sheared in a desire to learn the entire process of taking raw fiber to an end product to wear.

Shelby

Customer Service Representative

Shelby has worked has part of the Shiloh team for 4 years. She moved to Dayton from Pittsburgh in 2019. She came to Shiloh Animal Hospital when her vet in Pittsburgh recommended Dr. Mazzei for the care of her dogs. About a year later she started working here as a Client Service Representative. She has a 10 year old golden retriever named Lucy. Her favorite thing about working here are her co-workers, clients and patients! Shelby’s favorite thing to do is to be outside with her husband, two children, and dog Lucy.

Leeanna wins the award for longevity currently. She has worked at Shiloh for a total of 22 years! Other than a few-year gap when she had her son, Leeanna has been a fixture at our hospital. Leeanna grew up with all kinds of pets and has always had a special bond with them. She has always liked animals more than humans so as a kid she knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field. Leeanna currently has 3 bulldogs, two French and one English. Her favorite thing about working here is helping animals feel better. Leeanna has a husband and a 12-year-old son. They love spending time with their bulldogs and family!

Her pets include a cat and a flock of sheep!

Practice Manager

Mark

Practice manager

Mark’s history with Shiloh Animal Hospital extends back over twenty years. Previous to buying the practice with his wife, Dr. Mazzei, He was the Curator of Live Animals for the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. Dr. Hall, the previous owner was the veterinarian for the museum so he was in the clinic often with Sloths, snakes, otters and other assorted zoo animals. After buying the practice with Dr. Mazzei in April of 2017 he joined the staff.

Mark grew up in Cincinnati and attended Walsh University in Canton, Ohio earning a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources. Prior to joining Shiloh, his career focused on environmental education and zookeeping.
